{"id":697049,"date":"2023-06-19T10:11:40","date_gmt":"2023-06-19T08:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=697049"},"modified":"2023-06-20T10:20:10","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T08:20:10","slug":"major-58-hour-water-outage-in-joburg-postponed-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/697049\/major-58-hour-water-outage-in-joburg-postponed-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Major 58-hour water outage in Joburg postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A 58-hour water outage that was supposed to affect over 100 areas in Johannesburg has been postponed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/lifestyle\/696301\/massive-58-hour-water-outage-hitting-parts-of-joburg-next-week-all-areas-affected\/\" target=\"_blank\">The shutdown was supposed<\/a> to start at 07h00 on Tuesday, 20 June and conclude at 15h00 on Thursday, 22 June, with a further five days needed for normal water supply to return. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Johannesburg Water said that the planned shutdown has been postponed until further notice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo also confirmed to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news24.com\/news24\/southafrica\/news\/reprieve-for-joburg-residents-as-rand-water-puts-lengthy-outage-plan-on-hold-20230619\" target=\"_blank\">News24<\/a> that the planned maintenance will not occur this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/JoburgUpdates?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#JoburgUpdates<\/a> <br>Rand Water postpones planned shutdown. ^N <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ypC9m7NLHh\">pic.twitter.com\/ypC9m7NLHh<\/a><\/p>&mdash;
