The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback and sedan are now on sale in South Africa, with a starting price of R794,509.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new A-class will offer six models, with the hatchback offering only petrol, while the sedan can be had in either petrol or diesel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercedes-Benz also added that the new Mercedes-AMG A-Class models are also now available, and details on the A 35 4MATIC hatch and sedan, plus the flagship A 45 S 4MATIC hatch, will be issued in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new A-Class comes with a standard dual-screen configuration consisting of a 7-inch driver monitor and a 10.25-inch central media display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also features a multifunction steering wheel made of Nappa leather, seats made of three-dimensional Artico leather, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps with adaptive high-beam assist, and a reverse camera that comes with active parking assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When selecting the cabin colours for the Progressive, you can choose from Beige, Black, and Sage Grey. The finishes feature a dark carbon fibre look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the AMG Line, you get a range of stylish upgrades such as brushed aluminium trims, red contrasting stitchwork, Artico leather\/Microcut microfibre upholstery, Sports seats, and AMG floor mats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the AMG is set apart with sportier bumpers and 18-inch rims for an elevated driving experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A200 is equipped with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 120kW of power and 270Nm of torque., utilising a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A200-labeled vehicle has been improved with mild-hybrid features, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 5.4-5.6 litres per 100 kilometres. It can accelerate to 100 km\/h in just 8.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 225 km\/h (230 km\/h for the sedan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If diesel is your preferred choice, The A200d comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel unit producing 110kW and 320Nm which allows for even better fuel consumption of 4.5l\/100km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it can achieve a 0-100km\/h time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 227km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South African pricing and model line-up for the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
