Volkswagen (VW) has revealed its new T-Cross for 2024, which will come with a revamped interior and exterior design as well as updated standard technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to TopAuto<\/a>, the new VW is coming to European dealers in the first quarter of 2023, while South Africa will have to wait until the second half of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe car comes to customers with its revamped design, enhanced standard equipment, new technology features, and a newly designed high-quality interior,\u201d said VW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDespite the extensive enhancements, the new T-Cross will still be offered at a very attractive base price,\u201d added the automaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The T-Cross has been one of the most successful models for the German brand. VW has sold around 1.2 million units to date and is one of the best-selling cars in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa)’s latest New Vehicle Sales report, the T-Cross was the best-selling model behind the well-established VW Polo Vivo and Polo hatchbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

VW is bringing some notable changes to its new crossover SUV, including a new front and rear bumper, restyled fog lights, integrated LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillight clusters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exterior changes also come with three new colours, including Clear Blue Metallic, Grape Yellow, and Kings Red Metallic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internally, the new T-Cross will come with a host of new and updated features, such as a Digital Cockpit package as standard and an 8- or 9.2-inch central touchscreen infotainment system \u2013 depending on the model you choose to buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other standard equipment includes all-around LED lights instead of the old halogen lamps, a multifunction camera system, and road sign recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mid-range Life trim will have 16-inch alloy wheels and a leather multifunction steering wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, in the Life trim, the Style and R-Line, the front passenger seat can also be folded all the way forward to create a continuous load area that measures roughly 2.3 meters long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optional extras for the new VW then include climate control with touch-sensitive sliders, the IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights which are a first for this model, and the Travel Assist package with adaptive cruise control and lane assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to TopAuto, the new T-Cross range will retain turbo-petrol engines across the line-up, but VW did not reveal whether any changes will be made to the current engine configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current T-Cross is offered with a 1.0-litre option with either 70kW and 175Nm or 85kW and 200Nm of power and torque. If that’s not enough, buyers can opt for a 1.5-litre engine that generates 110kW and 250Nm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These engine configurations are then paired with a five-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox, all combinations turning the front axle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official South African specifics and configurations have yet to be announced. However, VW noted that these details would be released closer to the new T-Cross’s launch date in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
