Nedbank is implementing a USB token platform to provide its wholesale business customers with tighter online transaction security.<\/p>\n
The system – called Ezio Corporate eBanking PKI from digital security firm Gemalto – provides a digital “safe zone” through a USB key plugged into a PC or Mac, which allows for secure transactions.<\/p>\n
The platform does not require software installation, Gemalto noted, adding that it is remotely managed, enabling the bank to update certificates and deploy new services without the need for new hardware.<\/p>\n
The \u201csafe zone\u201d permits users to securely review, approve, and digitally sign all types and amounts of banking transactions within a protected online environment.<\/p>\n
“Ezio also ensures session integrity even if the connection platform is vulnerable,” Gemalto said.<\/p>\n
Nedbank said it has implemented the PKI to “differentiate ourselves from our competitors by offering a secure product with enhanced client usability as well improved tracking and business information”.<\/p>\n
