He noted on Sunday (23 July) that he would be escalating the issue to Eskom&#8217;s board as he remains very worried about the situation. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) said the officers would be processed at the Sandton Police Station and are set to appear at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday. In a separate statement, Transnet reported on Friday that two people had been sentenced to hefty periods of 15 years in prison for fuel theft from the Durban to Johannesburg pipeline. It is estimated that R1 billion a month is lost due to such acts. On Monday (24 July), the rand was trading at R17.99\/$, R20\/\u20ac, and R23.15\/\u00a3. Brent crude is trading at $80.29 a barrel.
