Late on Saturday, Musk invited his 149 million followers to suggest an X logo, then chose one of the designs and made it his new profile picture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He confirmed in responses to followers that he intends to adopt it as an interim design, which \u201cprobably changes later, certainly will be refined.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Going with minimalist art deco on the upper right. <br><br>Probably changes later, certainly will be refined.<\/p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1683324132853686272?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 24, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>While crowdsourcing the logo, Musk changed his profile information to read \u201cX.com,\u201d a web address that now redirects to corresponding user pages on twitter.com. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together with Twitter Chief Executive Officer Linda Yaccarino, Musk said the move is part of a broader overhaul that will see all familiar \u201cTwitter\u201d and bird branding stripped away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musk\u2019s stated intentions for Twitter have fluctuated over time, having initially started as a quest to eliminate bots on the service and preserve free speech. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has since talked about Twitter as an accelerant for delivering X, his vision for an everything-app akin to Tencent Holdings Ltd.\u2019s WeChat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In supporting tweets on Sunday, the recently appointed CEO explained that the X service is envisioned as an AI-powered \u201cglobal marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities.\u201d It would include payments and banking alongside audio, video and messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">X is the future state of unlimited interactivity \u2013 centered in audio, video, messaging, payments\/banking \u2013 creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.
