30-hour water outage hitting South Africa&#8217;s capital &#8211; here are the affected areas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rand Water will cut off the water supply to large parts of the City of Tshwane next month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rand Water was initially going to conduct the maintenance on Sunday, 30 July, but has now moved it to <strong>Tuesday, 15 August, from 05h00 until Wednesday, 16 August at 11h00. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The shutdown will last 30 hours, but Rand Water warned that it could take two weeks for the system to stabilise. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the shutdown period, the utility&#8217;s team will repair leaks at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant and replace defective valves at Palmiet Booster Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shutdown at Palmiet Booster Station will decrease pumping to 75% of its capacity and affect the  Klipriviersberg, Klipfontein, Brakfontein and Hartebeesthoek reservoirs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of Tshwane is asking residents to lower their water usage by doing the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not water gardens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not wash cars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not clean driveways or pavements using hosepipes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not fill swimming pools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flush toilets only when necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close a running tap while brushing teeth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce daily water usage as much as possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following areas and reservoirs in Tshwane will be affected: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr 317-JR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bakenkop Reservoir:\u00a0<\/strong>Brakfontein 399-JR, Celtisdal (all extensions), Clubview (all extensions),
