Convergence technology company Multisource has reportedly made an offer to acquire iBurst parent company, Wireless Business Solutions (WBS), according to TechCentral.<\/p>\n
Multisource chairman Phumlani Moholi is cited as confirming that the group has put in an offer, but noted that the transaction was at a sensitive stage and bound by confidentiality, with no further information provided.<\/p>\n
In September, MyBroadband reported<\/a> that iBurst was in discussions with three different players regarding a possible acquisition deal, and was considering one offer made at the time.<\/p>\n This was confrimed by WBS director, David Hilewitz.<\/p>\n Notably, Multisource is no stranger to iBurst. In October 2013, Multisource acquired Neology, which has very close ties to iBurst.<\/p>\n iBurst assets include spectrum in the 1,800MHz band, along with an established wireless network with high sites and an extensive microwave backhaul network.<\/p>\n Multisource, meanwhile, focuses on the designing, building, operating, and federating of “next wave” networks.<\/p>\n These networks combine radio, wireless, voice, video, and IP technologies into a single, integrated communication network, the group notes.<\/p>\n iBurst CEO steps down<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\nMore on iBurst<\/h3>\n
