{"id":712488,"date":"2023-08-21T10:27:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-21T08:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=712488"},"modified":"2023-08-21T11:14:59","modified_gmt":"2023-08-21T09:14:59","slug":"absa-launches-new-smart-metal-bank-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/712488\/absa-launches-new-smart-metal-bank-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Absa launches new &#8216;smart metal&#8217; bank cards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Banking group Absa has launched rebranded verticle cards for all its bank accounts, featuring black and &#8216;smart-metal&#8217; card offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the group, the new card face is embossed with an African basket weave design, in line with its pan-African identity, and will be issued across segments &#8211; youth and entry-level through to wealth clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smart-metal cards will initially be available to Private Banking and Wealth clients with availability to other segments considered for a later stage, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bank said it has fully switched to vertical cards, with the group&#8217;s digital cards on the Mobile Banking App also being updated with the new design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe recognise that cards are shifting to the mobile environment.
