Telkom has made it clear that leave will not be granted to employees involved in a Communication Workers Union (CWU) march next week.<\/p>\n
The CWU is planning to march to Telkom offices on 28 October 2014 to hand over a memorandum to the company.<\/p>\n
Telkom has informed employees that the CWU march is only planned for the Pretoria region. However, Telkom said that it might spill over into Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and North West regions.<\/p>\n
Telkom highlighted that attendance registers will be kept for the day and the absence of any employee, due to participation in the march, will result in a \u201cNo work, No pay\u201d ruling.<\/p>\n
The company added that no leave should be authorised for employees for 28 October, unless prior arrangements were made well in advance.<\/p>\n
Telkom urged its management staff to prepare for the march, asking them to put contingency plans in place to mitigate any mass absence.<\/p>\n
The operator also warned employees that all company vehicles will be tracked, and that unauthorised trips will be dealt with in terms of the disciplinary procedure.<\/p>\n
