shedding to be eased this weekend &#8211; here&#8217;s the schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Power utility Eskom says that load shedding will be eased this weekend as demand is expected to drop, taking pressure off the grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented as planned on Friday (5 January) from 16h00 until 05h00 on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be followed by stage 1 load shedding until 16h00, onto stage 2 until 05h00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Load shedding will then be suspended from 05h00 until 16h00 on Sunday, with outages returning at stage 1 from 16h00 to 05h00 on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The load shedding schedule for the week ahead is expected to be announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday, 5 January<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stage 2: until 16h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 3: 16h-00 to 00h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Saturday, 6 January<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stage 3: 00h00 to 05h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 1: 05h00 to 16h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 2: 16h00 to 00h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sunday, 7 January<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stage 2: 00h00 to 05h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suspended: 05h00 to 16h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 1: 16h00 to 00h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Eskom, the lower stages of load shedding are a result of the return to service of some generation units in the past 48 hours, coupled with the anticipated lower weekend demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Schedules&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For people living in the
