January) until Monday morning, followed by stage 3 load shedding until 05:00 on Thursday (18 January 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Due to the slight improvement in generation performance and the adequate emergency reserves for the week ahead, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 on Monday instead of Stage 3, as communicated earlier,&#8221; it said.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thereafter, Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 on Monday until 05:00 on Thursday, 18 January 2024, it added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sunday, 14 05h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 3: 05h00 to 16h00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stage 3: 16h00 to 00h00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Eskom currently has 8,843MW of generation capacity offline for planned maintenance, with a further 13,981MW unavailable due to breakdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it anticipates that 2,721MW of generating capacity will be returned to the grid by Wednesday, 17 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEskom Power Station General Managers and their teams are working diligently to ensure that the 2,721MW of generating capacity is returned to service by Wednesday,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The power utility said it would continue to monitor the power system closely and communicate any significant changes if they occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe slight improvement in generation capacity as well as the recovery of emergency reserves for the week ahead has enabled Eskom not to implement Stage 4 load-shedding from 16:00 today as previously communicated,\u201d it
