Thomson Wilks says it has become the first law firm in South Africa to accept bitcoin from its clients as a means of payment.<\/p>\n

The medium sized firm which operates from hubs in\u00a0Sandton, Cape Town and Durban, said payment via the crypto-currency technology is enabled by bitcoin investment company, Voomar.<\/p>\n

It noted that increasingly, high profile companies including Dell, Expedia and Takealot.com, are accepting payment in bitcoin.<\/p>\n

\u201cStrategically, as the first and only law firm in South Africa to accept bitcoin, Thomson Wilks has immediately established a captive client base made up of all businesses and individuals wanting to pay their legal bills in bitcoin.”<\/p>\n

“The digital currency revolution has arrived in South Africa. It has been fascinating to watch as its users grow exponentially,” said Thomson Wilks managing partner, Stephen Thomson.<\/p>\n

“Through Voomar we can either hold and invest in bitcoin or convert it into Rands,” Thomson said.<\/p>\n
