{"id":750290,"date":"2024-02-09T01:12:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T23:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=750290"},"modified":"2024-02-09T01:13:36","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T23:13:36","slug":"load-shedding-pushed-to-stage-4-as-more-units-go-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/750290\/load-shedding-pushed-to-stage-4-as-more-units-go-down\/","title":{"rendered":"Load shedding pushed to stage 4 as more units go down"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong> 09\/02\/2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eskom announced that load shedding would be pushed to stage 4 after two more units had to be taken out of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 4 load shedding will kick in from 02h00 and continue until further notice, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Original story<\/strong> 08\/02\/2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Power utility Eskom says that load shedding will be pushed up to stage 3 indefinitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group said that due to the need to replenish the pumped storage dams &#8211; required to meet the morning and evening peak loads &#8211; load shedding will be pushed to stage 3 from 22h00 on Thursday (8 February).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A generating unit was also taken offline for repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stage 3 load shedding will continue until further notice, it said.
