{"id":752363,"date":"2024-02-16T09:06:07","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T07:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=752363"},"modified":"2024-02-16T09:06:12","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T07:06:12","slug":"load-shedding-eases-to-stage-2-until-further-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/energy\/752363\/load-shedding-eases-to-stage-2-until-further-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"Load shedding eases to stage 2 until further notice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Power utility Eskom says that the return of more generating units and adequate emergency reserves will allow it to ease load shedding on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group said that load shedding would be <strong>dropped to stage 2 from 10h00 on Friday (16 February) and will continue at this level until further notice.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further changes will be announced if and when it is necessary, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Load shedding has been gradually eased this week following a sudden return to stage 6 outages last weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister in the Presidency for Electricity, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, said this week that the main cause of the stage 6 load shedding was due to several boiler tube leaks which took out many generating units &#8211;
