Eskom has announced that it will continue to keep load shedding suspended during the day before implementing it during the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Load shedding will start again at stage 2 from 16:00 today, 18 February, until 05:00 on Monday, 19 February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Load shedding will then be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00, when stage 2 load shedding will restart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This alternating schedule, which can be found below, will continue until further notice: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunday, 18 February<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Monday, 19 February<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Tuesday, 20 February<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “While the available generation capacity has been sustained, the need to replenish the emergency reserves for the upcoming week necessitates an increase in the stage of load shedding. Eskom will closely monitor the power system and communicate any changes to load shedding should it be required,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unplanned outages have reduced to 13,350MW, while the capacity out for planned maintenance is at 8,476MW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The embattled power utility added that an anticipated 3,300MW of generating capacity is expected to be returned to service by Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Eskom’s evening peak demand for tonight is 24,979MW. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Schedules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For people living in the major metros, load shedding schedules are available here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n For access to other load shedding schedules, Eskom has made them available on loadshedding.eskom.co.za.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Smartphone users can also download the app EskomSePush to receive push notifications when load shedding is implemented, as well as the times the area you are in will be off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
