Embattled SABC chairwoman Ellen Tshabalala has been excluded from the new Transnet board, it emerged on Thursday.<\/p>\n
\u201cCabinet approved the following appointments subject to the verification of qualifications and the relevant experience\u2026\u201d a giggling Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe told journalists in Pretoria following Wednesday\u2019s fortnightly Cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n
Tshabalala made headlines over the past few months over her inability to produce her BCom degree and Industrial Relations diploma she claimed she received from the University of SA (Unisa).<\/p>\n
A parliamentary inquiry recently found her guilty of lying on her CV when applying for the job as SABC chairwoman, after a Unisa official testified their records disproved her claims.<\/p>\n
She did however register, but failed so badly she did not even qualify to re-register for one of the courses.<\/p>\n
Tshabalala insists Unisa\u2019s computer records are unreliable.<\/p>\n
Eleven people were appointed to serve on the new Transnet board.<\/p>\n
Linda Mabaso will chair the board, while Yasmin Forbes and Nazmeera Moola were reappointed.<\/p>\n
The other new board members are Stanley Shane, Mogokare Seleke, Gideon Mahlalela, Potso Mathekga, Zainul Nagdee, Vusi Nkonyane, Peter Williams, and Brett Stagman.<\/p>\n
Cabinet also approved the new Eskom board.<\/p>\n
Zola Tsotsi was reappointed Eskom board chairman, with Chwayita Mabude being the only other reappointment.<\/p>\n
The new Eskom board members are Norman Baloyi, Pathmanathan Naidoo, Venete Klein, Nazia Carrim, Romeo Khumalo, Mark Pamensky, Zethembe Khoza, Baldwin Ngubane, and Devapushpum Naidoo.<\/p>\n
