It is currently published bi-monthly (every two months) &#8211; but the groups will now put all the focus on the brand&#8217;s digital growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group said that more than 1 million customers access the brand&#8217;s content on digital platforms every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe believe this decision will shift the focus from the present to the future, allowing us to connect with even more customers and solve their problems more creatively,&#8221; said Elizka Ferreira, head of foods marketing at Woolworths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Woolworths said it would invest more of its content and amplification budgets into TASTE\u2019s digital channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDigital content has the advantage of being more tactical and more personalised, offering life-enhancing functionality and, critically, the ability to measure success.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Print bloodbath<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s print magazines and newspapers have been in decline for decades years, with the latest circulation data from the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) of South Africa showing a veritable bloodbath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circulation statistics for October to December 2023 show that only a handful of publications in the country showed a year-on-year increase in their circulation numbers, while the collective circulation of all ABC members showed a year-on-year decline of 7.4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ABC said this declining trend aligns with a 5% annual decrease in its membership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This significant decline in circulation for print publications can be largely attributed to the digitalisation of news and entertainment media over the past few decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past 10 years, media has largely moved online and found ways to become profitable that differ wildly from how print media generate revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over this time, many print publications have kept with the trends and shifted to digital platforms \u2013 some wholly, while others have taken a hybrid approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TASTE is now the latest in a long line to move to a fully digital format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/755595\/woolworths-takes-a-hit\/\">Woolworths takes a hit<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Woolworths will print its final issue of its TASTE magazine in the middle of the year, as it shifts entirely to digital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":758209,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5554],"tags":[26],"class_list":["post-758205","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-media","tag-headline"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/758205","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/10"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=758205"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/758205\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":758211,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/758205\/revisions\/758211"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/758209"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=758205"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=758205"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=758205"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
