{"id":7615,"date":"2012-03-12T10:21:52","date_gmt":"2012-03-12T10:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=7615"},"modified":"2012-03-12T10:47:11","modified_gmt":"2012-03-12T10:47:11","slug":"esquire-takes-50-stake-in-sa-gateway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/internet\/7615\/esquire-takes-50-stake-in-sa-gateway\/","title":{"rendered":"Esquire takes 50% stake in SA Gateway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/376024-Esquire\" target=\"_blank\">Esquire Technologies<\/a> has acquired a 50% stake in ISP, SA Gateway, for an undisclosed amount.<\/p>\n<p>The deal sees the management staff of SA Gateway retaining a 50% shareholding, with Esquire owning the remaining 50%.<\/p>\n<p>MD of Esquire Technologies, <a title=\"Person Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/411755-Asgar-Mahomed\" target=\"_blank\">Asgar Mahomed<\/a>, said the purchase is in-line with the company\u2019s ongoing Internet strategy \u2013 to be in a position to offer its 12,000 active resellers \u201cvery competitive\u201d rates for \u2018\u2019Internet-based communications\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He said that through the purchase of SA Gateway, the group can effectively offer wholesale rates to its clients.<\/p>\n<p>Mahomed noted that the purchase also forms part of its strategy to grow its Virtual Reseller Network (VRN).
