Xiaomi has officially launched its Redmi Note 13 series in South Africa, and these smartphones are now available from Vodacom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The range comprises the Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, and BusinessTech got the chance to try each of these smartphones at a launch event in Braamfontein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe launch of the Redmi Note 13 series is here to push boundaries even further,\u201d said Iris Cao, Marketing Manager at Xiaomi South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We agree with Cao, as the most notable takeaway for us was the smartphones\u2019 impressive camera systems, which lived up to their \u201ciconic\u201d billing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The triple-sensor system of each of the Note 13 series smartphones allowed us to take excellent pictures at any distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Redmi Note 13 has a 108MP camera, while the Note 13 Pro improves on this with 200MP for even clearer shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most impressive is the camera system from the Note 13 Pro+ 5G, with its 200MP camera with OIS technology providing hyper-accurate motion capture, which we found great for capturing the more frenetic parts of the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For avid photographers, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G also has a 4x lossless zoom that delivers greater clarity at long ranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excellent displays<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We were also impressed by each smartphone\u2019s display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Note 13 and 13 Pro\u2019s 6.67-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED displays provided crystal clear images, while the 13 Pro+ 5G stood out thanks to its flagship-calibre 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED curved display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each display also featured ultra-thin bezels with high peak brightnesses of up to 1,800 nits – which is extremely impressive for smartphones in these segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long-lasting battery performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While we couldn\u2019t test the battery life at the event, the specifications are very impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three smartphones boast 5,000mAh batteries and use advanced charging technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comprises 33W fast charge, 67W turbo charge, and 120W Hypercharge for the Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro+ 5G, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cao noted that through the Redmi Note 13 series, Xiaomi continues its vision of making affordable and accessible smartphones for all South Africans without compromising on features and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFourteen years ago, Xiaomi entered the smartphone game when top smartphone players were launching expensive devices that a young person couldn\u2019t afford. Xiaomi, on the other hand, launched incredible devices at a price which I could afford,\u201d said Cao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd to this day, we are still doing it \u2013 making sure that innovation is for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Redmi Note 13 series is now available with contracts from Vodacom<\/a><\/strong> that will run until 6 May while stocks last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
