Altech<\/a> Autopage is working on new products which will take the bundling of communications products \u2013 including broadband access, cellular services, smartphones, tablets and support \u2013 to a new level.<\/p>\n

Altech Autopage announced yesterday (12 March 2012) that it is merging with its sister company, Altech Technology Concepts (ATC).<\/p>\n

ATC is a provider of physical network links, Internet access, managed services and cloud-based services to the business and consumer markets.<\/p>\n

Current MD at Altech Autopage Cellular (AAPC), Boyd Chislett<\/a>, has been appointed as the chief executive of the integrated organisation, whilst Wayne de Nobrega<\/a>, the current CEO of Altech Tech Concepts (ATC), will be taking up a strategic advisory position, working closely with Boyd and the executive team.<\/p>\n

One of the obvious benefits of the merger, is the ability to provide converged communications products. Chislett confirmed that they are working on bundled products, adding that it will offer consumers and businesses far more than previously seen in South Africa.<\/p>\n

Chislett explained that Altech Autopage is well-positioned to offer bundled products, which include ADSL, cellular services, handsets, gadgets, hardware and even support.<\/p>\n

De Nobrega added that the bundling will stop at basic broadband and voice services, but will include VoIP products with fully managed services for businesses and consumers.<\/p>\n

Chislett added that they want consumers to be able to walk into an Altech Autopage, select exactly the services and products they want (hence, creating their personalized communications bundle) and only paying for the services which they require.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur single, converged communications service which will differentiate Altech Autopage in the market,\u201d said Chislett.<\/p>\n

De Nobrega and Chislett highlighted that the development of these new bundled products will not happen overnight. Initial offerings may be basic product bundles on a single bill, but as time progresses, consumers can expect the fully-converged communications bundles which Altech Autopage is planning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
