Telkom says it will target Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in 2015 through the delivery of accessible and value-adding ICT functionality.<\/p>\n
The group said its ability to offer all the components of fixed, data, cloud, IT and mobile capabilities, means the company is well placed to offer solutions that best serve the SME sector.<\/p>\n
“To better serve our SME customers, Telkom stores now also offer dedicated business desks. These were created to specialise in analysing the ICT needs of small to medium business customers and ensuring suitable product choices across the spectrum of mobile and fixed voice and data offering,” it said in a statement on Friday (16 January).<\/p>\n
Computer hardware (e.g. PCs, laptops), office automation and security systems are also available to business customers, it said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to partner with SMEs as their ICT provider to help transcend their business approaches from mere survivalist small scale operations to leveraging opportunity identification in order to ensure sustainable growth,” said Thami Magazi, Telkom\u2019s managing executive for the SME Services division.<\/p>\n
Telkom\u2019s acquisition of listed ICT firm Business Connexion (BCX) is still awaiting regulatory approvals after the telco announced in May 2013 that it had entered into an agreement to acquire BCX in a R2.7 billion cash offer<\/p>\n
On Thursday, mobile operator Vodacom put a target on Telkom’s back after CEO Shameel Joosub said that the group\u2019s intention to acquire Neotel means that competitors will need to lift their game.<\/p>\n
