Network equipment maker, Cisco Systems<\/a> Inc, has appointed Alpheus Mangale<\/a> as the new Managing Director for its South African operations.<\/p>\n

Mangale will be based in Johannesburg, and succeeds current MD, David Meads<\/a>, whose tenure ends in July 2012.<\/p>\n

Mangale had previously held numerous positions in Dimension Data<\/a> Group over the past 15 years, where his most recent role was as sales director, working across all lines of the company’s business.<\/p>\n

Mangale will report directly to Cisco’s VP for the emerging theatre, Duncan Mitchell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m confident that under Alpheus\u2019 leadership, given his proven expertise, Cisco will continue to engage strategically and successfully with both the government and key organisations to make a significant impact on innovation, productivity and sustainability in South Africa,\u201d said Mitchell in a statement.<\/p>\n

Mangale will focus on enabling digital inclusion through working with local government and organisations to facilitate ICT transformation and boost economic development in South Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
