Best Before, which offers lower prices than Checkers, Pick n Pay, and Spar because of its business model, is expanding its presence to Pretoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retailer, founded by Mark Gordon and Alain Soriano in 2017, offers much lower prices than other South African retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group can offer lower prices to customers by selling short and past-dated food and personal care products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although these products are past their best-before date, they are safe to use as they remain within their use-by date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The products come from trusted and reputable suppliers, and stringent quality control ensures that they are safe to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company explained that the best-before date on most items estimates how long a product will remain at optimal quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retailer buys large quantities of products around their best-before date, which it gets at great discounts. These discounts are then passed on to consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These discount stores are very popular in Europe and Australia, which prompted Gordon and Soriano to replicate the business model in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They opened their first Best Before store in Wendywood, Sandton, which showed a strong demand for their offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have since opened many new stores and partnered with South Africa\u2019s largest food suppliers to deliver quality food at great prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Before currently has six stores in Johannesburg, the locations of which are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
