{"id":79778,"date":"2015-02-15T07:08:22","date_gmt":"2015-02-15T05:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=79778"},"modified":"2015-02-15T07:09:24","modified_gmt":"2015-02-15T05:09:24","slug":"south-african-bank-fees-under-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/79778\/south-african-bank-fees-under-fire\/","title":{"rendered":"South African bank fees under fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African banks may be forced to reduce the fees they charge customers, the Sunday Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, politicians are in favour of \u201cdrastic action\u201d to protect South Africans against high bank fees.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times quoted ANC spokesman Zizi Kodwa as saying that \u201cthey [the banks] do not have a choice\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The banks, however, argue that their fees are fair.
