Say goodbye to Google’s Windows desktop-based chat platform which is scheduled to be shut down on Monday (16 February).<\/p>\n
Google recently\u00a0sent out messages to users of the Windows Google Talk desktop app that its services will be ending on 16 February 2015.<\/p>\n
The search giant said that the IM service will be wholly replaced by the Hangouts app, which is only available through using its Chrome browser.<\/p>\n
It was previously understood that, although the Gtalk app will cease to function, \u00a0users would still be able to access their contacts through third party applications such as\u00a0Pidgin, Adium and other Jabber-enabled clients.<\/p>\n
