It would include:

Funding from the provincial fiscus;

A reduced-cap e-toll;

A ring-fenced national fuel levy;

Increasing and ring-fencing the cost of advertising on toll routes;

Increasing and ring-fencing vehicle license fees;

Increasing fees for tyres;

and recovering funds from the construction industry.

More on Gauteng and e-tolls

E-toll review panel findings: everything you need to know

Too many whites in Gauteng

Gauteng in renewable energy drive

E-tolls will stay, says Gauteng premier

Gauteng Premier David Makhura says that a revised e-toll system will provide ‘major financial relief’, and will also have an easier payment model.

[1
1804,26
post-80427","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-trending","tag-e-tolls","tag-headline
["GET
