{"id":806060,"date":"2025-01-08T13:40:49","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T11:40:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=806060"},"modified":"2025-01-08T13:47:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T11:47:38","slug":"high-demand-for-these-work-from-home-jobs-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/806060\/high-demand-for-these-work-from-home-jobs-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"High demand for these work-from-home jobs in South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Work opportunities are set to increase for South Africans in 2025, with several work-from-home jobs in high demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Pnet&#8217;s latest Job Market Trends Report for 2024, slowing recruitment activity continued in November 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year-on-year, hiring activity dropped by 10%, compared to November 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the two-year comparison trend reveals that recruitment activity has decreased by 10% compared to November 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the overall drop in employment, Pnet highlighted regional job trends, which showed that there are still jobs that are hiring remote work employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to its data, the top in-demand professionals include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Business &amp; Management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IT<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Finance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pnet noted that hiring for remote-working Business and Management professionals has increased by 37% over the last year <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, IT staff saw a decline of 22% year-on-year. However, this decreasing trend in recruitment for IT staff has been prevalent across most regions across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/802503\/what-companies-in-south-africa-need-to-understand-about-work-from-home\/\">REDi Holbourne Recruitment Group<\/a> previously said that 2025 should see an increase in hiring activity following a tough 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It noted that there was a slowdown in recruitment activity at the start of 2024 amidst an economic downtown and the General Election in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recruitment consultancy stressed that flexible working arrangements are crucial for enticing potential employees, with work outside the office highly desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of the work-from-home opportunities, Pnet&#8217;s regional trends report showed that  the Free State has the following jobs in high demand: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Business &amp; Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Admin, Office &amp; Support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although year-on-year recruitment for sales staff has decreased by 41% in the Free State, hiring<br>activity grew by 13% for Business &amp; Management staff in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, top in-demand professionals in the Eastern Cape include the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Business &amp; Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Year-on-year, the  Eastern Cape has experienced a decrease in hiring activity within Sales, IT and Business &amp; Admin, Office &amp; Support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graphic \/ Print \/ Packaging Design &#8211; Design, Media &amp; Arts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team Leader &amp; Supervisor &#8211; Business &amp; Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IT Project Administration \/ Management &#8211; Information Technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mechanical Engineering &#8211; Architecture &amp; Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pnet also noted that sector-specific activity trends can provide valuable insights into the local job market and South African economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It said that stable and increasing recruitment activity indicates confidence in the local economy and business growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following sectors saw large increases in hiring activity <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Medical &amp;
