{"id":80855,"date":"2015-02-26T09:51:41","date_gmt":"2015-02-26T07:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=80855"},"modified":"2015-02-26T14:34:54","modified_gmt":"2015-02-26T12:34:54","slug":"south-africas-best-companies-to-work-for-in-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/80855\/south-africas-best-companies-to-work-for-in-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa&#8217;s best companies to work for in 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Universum has released its Most Attractive Employer Awards for 2015, which shows that the government and parastatals\u00a0are popular employer choices for young South Africans and professionals.<\/p>\n<p>From July to October 2014 Universum conducted a survey of 44,640 students at 25 tertiary institutions and 21,374 professionals from across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>This research was used to determine\u00a0the Most Attractive Employer Awards, which provide indicators of the growth of certain sectors.<\/p>\n<p>It further shows young people\u2019s expectations for the future, and the changing face of South Africa\u2019s professional landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are given to the companies ranked the highest in the\u00a0two\u00a0different surveys (student and professionals).<\/p>\n<p>Students and professionals vote for employers in terms of the following areas of study:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business\/commerce students<\/li>\n<li>Engineering\/technology students<\/li>\n<li>Health care \/ health sciences \/ sciences students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Instability an\u00a0issue for job seekers<\/h3>\n<p>Following the trends of 2013, young people are still concerned about their prospects of finding employment and are looking for employers who\u00a0they perceive as stable.<\/p>\n<p>63% of students are concerned about their prospects of finding a job after graduation, which is slightly down from 66% last year.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Government and parastatals popular<\/h3>\n<p>In this year\u2019s rankings, within the student rankings, the government and parastatals feature in\u00a0the &#8220;Top 3&#8221;
