{"id":811121,"date":"2025-02-11T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=811121"},"modified":"2025-02-10T17:22:42","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T15:22:42","slug":"good-news-for-south-africans-about-one-public-holiday-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/811121\/good-news-for-south-africans-about-one-public-holiday-in-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Good news for South Africans about one public holiday in April"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Due to a clause in the Public Holidays Act, South Africans will still enjoy the benefits of Freedom Day, which falls on Sunday, 27 April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Africa has twelve public holidays, which start with New Year\u2019s Day on 1 January and end with Boxing Day on 26 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the twelve public holidays do not mean South Africans will enjoy twelve additional paid holidays yearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When a public holiday falls on a Saturday, it will not move to a weekday.
