Uber has announced new passenger and luggage restrictions in South Africa, which can significantly influence many users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uber said these new restrictions aim to make every trip go smoothly and help manage comfort, space, and safety, especially when luggage is involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease know that this guidance is advisory. If you feel unsure, we recommend that you contact the driver to confirm, as it would depend on the vehicle,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luggage is permitted with all Uber rides, including Uber Go, Uber X, Uber Comfort, Uber Black, Uber XL, and Uber Van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uber Go is restricted to 2 passengers, whereas Uber X, Uber Comfort, and Uber Black are limited to 3 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Groups with more than three people should use Uber XL, which can take six passengers, or Uber Van, which can accommodate seven passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This announcement followed the launch of Uber Moto which offers South Africans trips on the back of a motorbike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUber Moto is your new two-wheel alternative to getting around the Western Suburbs of the Joburg CBD,\u201d the company said in a press statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou can request one seat only with Uber Moto. If you need to send a package, we suggest you request a trip using Courier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uber Moto trips are only available in Braamfontein, Melville, Greenside, Brixton, Mayfair, Fordsburg, Rossmore, Langlaagte, Richmond, and the University of Johannesburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
