{"id":82459,"date":"2015-03-14T10:00:02","date_gmt":"2015-03-14T08:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=82459"},"modified":"2015-03-13T13:44:39","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T11:44:39","slug":"standard-bank-planned-system-downtime-on-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/82459\/standard-bank-planned-system-downtime-on-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"Standard Bank planned system downtime on Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Standard Bank says it will implement a planned system upgrade on Sunday, 15<sup>th<\/sup> March, which will affect it&#8217;s customers&#8217; ability to perform certain banking activities and transactions throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>The downtime will last from 01h30 to 23h00 on Sunday evening, the bank said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Customers will still be able to make cash withdrawals and deposits at ATMs and be able to use their Standard Bank debit, cheque or credit card to make payments,&#8221; the group said.<\/p>\n<p>However the following services will be affected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Limited access to telephone banking;<\/li>\n<li>Limited services available to customers at Standard Bank branches and via the customer call centre;<\/li>\n<li>Delay in statements and notifications;<\/li>\n<li>Customers will not be able to access Standard Bank\u2019s Banking App, Internet Banking, and Cellphone Banking;<\/li>\n<li>Customers will not be able to do online card transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funeka Montjane, Standard Bank\u2019s chief executive said: &#8220;Personal and Business Banking, South Africa says: \u201cWe understand that banking plays an essential part of everyday life. With the nature of how customers engage with banks changing significantly, it\u2019s therefore imperative for Standard Bank to play a key role in this ever changing environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order to create, update and introduce new functionalities, solutions and services that will empower and enrich customers, we need to change how we do banking.
