The Lion Pride Shopping Centre has opened in northern Johannesburg, servicing one of the fastest-growing areas in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new mall opened on 26 June 2025 and was developed by Abland Property Developers. The centre brings neighbourhood convenience to one of Johannesburg’s fastest-growing urban areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is located between Fourways and Lanseria at the corner of Malibongwe Drive and the R114, and a few minutes from the N14 highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lion Pride Shopping Centre enjoys good visibility and accessibility on the edge of the growing Fourways node.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a GLA of 7,500 sqm, the centre is designed to meet the day-to-day retail and service needs of the growing residential population in and around the Lion Pride Lifestyle Estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLion Pride Shopping Centre is a focal point for a thriving community,\u201d said Grant Silverman, Director at Abland Property Developers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis node is undergoing tremendous transformation, and we saw the opportunity to create a centre that responds directly to the needs of local families and professionals.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The centre also offers goods and services to eateries and entertainment, while bringing together an accessible retail mix that adds value to everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development forms part of the greater Lion Pride Precinct, which includes the Lion Pride Lifestyle Estate, a mixed-use estate comprising modern homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The centre hopes to be a vibrant landmark in the area and connect people to convenience. Retailers include a mix of national and independent outlets, ranging from grocery and fast food to professional services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tenants include Shoprite, Clicks, Roots Butchery and Grill, Zenzele Fitness, Real Beds, PostNet and several eateries like Steers, Debonairs, Fish and Chips City and KFC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The surrounding Fourways node has become one of Johannesburg’s fastest-growing areas and commercial hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area boasts a mix of high-income housing estates, secure apartments and a surge in business and retail activity, making it a major centre for work, leisure and modern living in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abland, the developer behind the shopping centre, is known for building commercial property developments across South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group will soon also have a large centre in Durbanville, Cape Town, via the Groot Phesantekraal View Shopping Centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new 30,000 sqm complex will be located at the intersection of Okavango Road and Klipheuwel Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like the Fourways area around Lion Pride Shopping Centre, the Groot Phesantekraal View Shopping Centre is set to target the growing Durbanville area in North Cape Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cape Town centre\u2019s opening is anticipated to increase local property demand, as it will bring greater convenience and attract more visitors to the area dominated by wine farms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
