Following our recent article on the promised versus actual weight of chocolate bars and slabs<\/a><\/strong>, we wiped down our kitchen\u00a0scale and tested SA’s chip brands to see if they delivered on their promises.<\/p>\n

Small and large packets from the Simba and Willards range were purchased, their stated weight recorded, and the contents of the packet weighed on the\u00a0food scale.<\/p>\n

All the packets were opened over a container placed on the scale to ensure no chip fragments were lost, with the container and scale wiped down after each measurement to avoid any inaccuracies.<\/p>\n

The results of the tests are detailed in two infographics below. The first looks at large packets from Simba and Willards, as well as a tube of Pringles.<\/p>\n
