The JSE-listed private school group ADvTECH has acquired another school in Kenya as part of its international expansion efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADvTECH is one of the top private school companies in South Africa, owning Crawford International, Varsity College, Trinityhouse, Pinnacle College and a host of other schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group has announced that it has expanded its Makini Schools offering in Nairobi, Kenya, after acquiring Regis Runda Academy for R172 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school is situated in the fast-developing Runda area, northeast of Nairobi, and has a current capacity of 2,000 students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a full K-12 offering and will be rebranded as Makini Schools Runda, which has a network of 6 existing schools in the East African country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring the brand’s compelling proposition to parents and students,\u201d said ADvTECH CEO Geoff Whyte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group said the move reinforces its commitment to the African continent. In November 2024, ADvTECH acquired five Flipper International Schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for R135 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group already has the aforementioned offerings in Kenya via its Makini Schools and Crawford International networks, as well as three schools in Gaborone, Botswana.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the tertiary education space, ADvTECH will soon open Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana. The first academic year will start on 1 September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n
