The Standard Bank Group has announced David Hodnett as the new Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank South Africa Limited (SBSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hodnett, who currently serves as the Group\u2019s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and leads its Corporate Affairs portfolio, will take up the position as soon as it receives regulatory approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He brings over 30 years of leadership experience and deep institutional knowledge to his new role as CEO of SBSA, the group said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thabani Ndwandwe will succeed David Hodnett as the Group Chief Risk Officer and will become a member of the Group Leadership Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ndwandwe will retain his SBSA CRO responsibilities, the bank said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having joined the Group in 2004, Ndwandwe brings two decades of experience and has demonstrated deep expertise in managing risk portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lungisa Fuzile\u2019s role as interim CEO for Africa Regions and Offshore now becomes a permanent appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“These key appointments demonstrate the group\u2019s significant depth of leadership succession pipeline,” said Standard Bank group CEO, Sim Tshabalala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“David has extensive experience in South Africa\u2019s financial services sector and has demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities in our group.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Since joining Standard Bank two decades ago, Thabani has shown exemplary leadership across the risk portfolio while Lungisa has a proven record of accomplishment,\u201d Tshabalala added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
