Park Meadows Shopping Centre in Gauteng is set for a significant upgrade, which will increase the number of stores in the mall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redefine Properties is investing R70 million into the redevelopment of the East Rand retail centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upgrade will see new retailers joining the list of tenants, with access improvements already underway to make the mall a convenient, everyday destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JSE-listed Real Estate Investment Trust said that the reinvestment forms part of Redefine\u2019s broader strategy to manage and future-proof its convenience-led retail assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the centre of the upgrade is the arrival of Woolworths Food, which will expand the centre\u2019s grocery offer with premium products and everyday essentials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be complemented by WCafe Woolworths\u2019 coffee and light meals concept, and WCellar, in its dedicated wine and liquor format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food Lover\u2019s Market also expanded to include a liquor section, giving customers more choices under one roof. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redefine said these additions will bring fresh energy to the tenant mix and broaden the reasons to visit Park Meadows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top os this, Park Meadows is also investing in improvements that support access, flow and the overall shopping environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes a new entrance to ease movement in and out of the centre, especially parking bays to accommodate larger vehicles and a refreshed building fa\u00e7ade that aims to create a more welcoming look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upgrades are done in phases to minimise disruption, so shoppers can continue shopping at the mall with minimal disruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPark Meadows has been a cornerstone shopping destination for the East Rand community for many years,\u201d said Leon Kok, Chief Operating Officer at Redefine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis investment is about aligning the centre with how people want to shop today: conveniently and efficiently, with access to the right mix of retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy introducing anchors like Woolworths and expanding Food Lover\u2019s Market, together with improvements to access and comfort, we are helping to keep Park Meadows relevant, resilient and a pleasure to visit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redefine added that the upgrade supports its strategy to actively manage and enhance convenience-led retail assets in line with evolving consumer expectations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also reflects broader trends in the retail sector, where centres that combine everyday essentials with premium experiences are best positioned to remain relevant and competitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
