focus on South African talent, as it expands its team of over 200 staff members in the country.

Brandtech+ specialises in film, CGI, motion design, and print, with its 1,000-person global team working with brands across the US, UK, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

It forms part of the broader Brandtech Group, which is headquartered in New York.

Although the country has one of South Africa’s most significant production operations, employing over 220 local staff, it remains relatively unknown.

The company has 100 global roles open for mid-to-senior talent and AI-aligned specialisations, with South Africans encouraged to apply.

The company stated that this announcement comes amid a challenging time for South Africa’s advertising and production sector.

The sector faces retention challenges, consolidation and rising uncertainty around AI.

“South Africa remains one of the world’s most sought-after talent hubs for global creative work and has been one of our strategic hiring markets,” said Candice Siege, Global Chief Operations Officer at Brandtech+.

“The favourable time zone for the UK, Europe and the US, the internationally recognised creative pedigree, the strong work ethic, and a maturing remote-work culture all make South African talent an exceptional fit for global work.”

Siege said that the company is scaling faster than it can hire, which it said is a good problem to have.

She noted that South Africans do not need to emigrate or nativagate “the local pitch treadmill” to work with the world’s largest brands.

She added that global creative opportunities shouldn’t be limited to traditional hub locations, as they should belong to anyone talented enough to deliver them.

“Our model is remote and genuinely flexible, giving talented people the chance to build global careers from home.”

“We want incredible, future-focused South African creatives, strategists, producers and technologists to realise they can build international careers from home.”

She said that the company is building the world’s best GenAI marketing company, and that South African workers will be crucial in this process.

<figure class="aligncenter emigrating back to South Africa.

Recruitment group DNA EOR reported a 70% increase in South Africans actively seeking to return over the past year.

DNA EOR said that South Africans are packing up their flats in London, Amsterdam, Toronto, and Sydney, shipping their dogs, and booking one-way tickets back to South Africa.

Motivations for moving vary, with some including a desire to escape South Africa’s weather and the wish to raise children closer to family.

For many, the lifestyle abroad no longer feels as
