{"id":848431,"date":"2026-01-21T07:40:52","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T05:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=848431"},"modified":"2026-01-21T07:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T05:40:57","slug":"standard-bank-losing-out-to-absa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/848431\/standard-bank-losing-out-to-absa\/","title":{"rendered":"Standard Bank losing out to Absa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Standard Bank Group Ltd., Africa\u2019s largest lender by assets, is set to lose two more top executives to smaller rival Absa Group Ltd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lender\u2019s investment-banking unit appointed Clive Potter, the head of client coverage in South Africa for the same division at Standard, as managing executive for client coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Francisco Khoza, the head of legal, will join the Absa team as deputy general group counsel, Absa said in response to queries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potter will start on March 30 while Khoza begins on April 1, said Daniel Munslow, Absa\u2019s managing executive for group communications.
