This trip affected the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Highlands <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CSIR <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lynnwood <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Villieria <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Koedoespoort <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waltloo <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pyramid <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wapadrand <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mooikloof<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In an update, the city found that Transformers 1A and 1B tripped at the Njala infeed Substation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city&#8217;s technical teams confirmed that the root cause of the outage was a fault at transformer 1A, which had to be isolated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During restoration efforts, a further fault was detected on the transformer 1B breaker, which also had to be dealt with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city said that the faults had to be thoroughly tested, repaired, and cleared by specialised teams before being re-energised, which led to the long repair times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city apologised for the inconvenience caused to residents.<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CityTshwane\/status\/2017640232376479969\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This outage affects a huge chunk of the city. Our teams are working to restore power as quickly as possible,&#8221; said Tshwane Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eskom confirmed that the fault is linked to Thswane&#8217;s infrastructure.
