Following recent reports that Kalahari will\u00a0be closing shop at the end of April 2015<\/strong><\/a>, Takealot has announced the details of the merger between the two online retailers.<\/p>\n

Takealot said the merger will be completed within the next month, with Kalahari closing in the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn 20 April we will be delisting all products that have a supplier lead time from the Kalahari website. If you can\u2019t find the product you are looking for on Kalahari during this period we recommend checking takealot.com instead,\u201d Takealot\u2019s site\u00a0stated.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes after the Competition Commission of South Africa approved the merger<\/strong><\/a> between Kalahari and Takealot\u00a0in January. The deal was announced in\u00a0October 2014.<\/p>\n

Kalahari account holders<\/h3>\n

Existing Kalahari customers will have their accounts transferred to Takelot if they \u201canswer yes to any of the three questions below\u201d.<\/p>\n

  1. Have you shopped on kalahari.com since September 2013?<\/li>\n
  2. Have you ever bought an eBook on kalahari.com?<\/li>\n
  3. Do you have an account credit on your Kalahari account?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You can check if your account will be moved by visiting the Just Merged section<\/strong><\/a> on takealot.com.<\/p>\n

    \u201cFor qualifying accounts, the account will be moved after the Kalahari website closes, which will happen within the next month.<\/p>\n

    Kalahari orders after closure<\/h3>\n

    \u201cAll outstanding Kalahari orders placed through the Kalahari website will be delivered by Kalahari and any changes in delivery will be communicated to you beforehand,\u201d said Takelot.<\/p>\n

    \u201cYou can track your order by logging in to your Takealot account and visiting the Takealot \u2018Order History\u2019 page. At the top of the page there is a link for tracking outstanding Kalahari orders.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Product return tracking and pre-orders will follow a similar process, via the Order History page, with all Kalahari pre-orders due to be delivered before 31 May 2015.<\/p>\n

    All traffic to Kalahari\u2019s site will be redirected to Takealot after the merger.<\/p>\n

    \u201cWe\u2019ll be working towards bringing you an even wider range of products and delivery options, while maintaining the great service and everyday low prices that our customers are accustomed to,\u201d said Takelot.<\/p>\n
