{"id":8545,"date":"2012-03-28T10:19:40","date_gmt":"2012-03-28T08:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=8545"},"modified":"2012-03-28T10:23:02","modified_gmt":"2012-03-28T08:23:02","slug":"nokia-windows-phones-hit-china-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/8545\/nokia-windows-phones-hit-china-in-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Nokia Windows phones hit China in April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314603-Nokia-Corporation\" target=\"_blank\">Nokia<\/a> said on Wednesday (28 March 2012) it would start to sell its new range of smartphones using Microsoft&#8217;s <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/forumdisplay.php\/229-Windows-Phone\" target=\"_blank\">Windows Phone<\/a> software in China from April through China Telecom, the third-largest operator in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Nokia, the world&#8217;s largest cellphone maker by volume, also unveiled two models tailored for the Chinese market, versions of its Lumia 610 and Lumia 800 models.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in Nokia rose on the news, up 3.5 percent at 4.136 euros by 0743 GMT.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is an encouraging step into the burgeoning China market.
