Telkom Wholesale Services announced wholesale price reductions of up to 63% across its product range on 23 April 2015, including Wholesale Fibre Broadband Access, IP Connect, Resell DSL, Metro Ethernet, and SAIX dedicated access offerings.<\/p>\n
\u201cTelkom\u2019s R12 billion investment in our Next Generation High Speed Broadband Network is ultimately to support South Africa\u2019s entire broadband ecosystem,\u201d said Alphonzo Samuels, Telkom\u2019s chief technology officer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about much more than just investing in technology. It is about investing in connectivity that will drive meaningful change in our country,\u201d said Samuels.<\/p>\n
He went on to highlight that the pricing announcement was the latest in a series of price reductions for Telkom\u2019s IP Connect product, which has now effectively been halved over the past eighteen months.<\/p>\n
From 1 May 2015, Telkom\u2019s Wholesale customers can expect the following price adjustments:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that these major price adjustments and our renewed focus on value will go far in serving our customers, the industry, and ultimately the socio-economic development of South Africa,\u201d said Telkom\u2019s managing director of wholesale services Prenesh Padayachee.<\/p>\n
He said that as part of Telkom\u2019s turnaround strategy, they recognise they have an important role to play in enabling their customers to deliver on the connectivity demands South Africans have come to expect.<\/p>\n
\u201cUltimately, Telkom\u2019s Wholesale division is enabling our resellers through its network and resell products to operate and compete successfully in their customer markets,\u201d said Padayachee.<\/p>\n
