The Cape Town Edition, an ultra-luxury hotel and private residences within the V&A Waterfront, will launch in October 2026 and has started advertising new positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cape Town Edition is seeking numerous skilled professionals, including an executive chef, a night manager, an IT manager, and a director of marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also advertising jobs for an executive housekeeper, purchasing manager, cost controller, assistant finance director, and restaurant manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are only a few of the vacancies advertised on the Marriott careers portal, as the new luxury hotel prepares for launch in six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BusinessTech recently visited The Cape Town Edition\u2019s construction site, which showed that the hotel is nearing completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel\u2019s exterior structure is basically complete, and there is a lot of construction activity inside and outside of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new hotel is situated next to another luxury hotel, the InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town, which was opened on 15 December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also very close to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, which offers numerous stores, restaurants, and other entertainment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cape Town Edition and The Residences form part of a greater V&A Waterfront Quay 7 Superyacht Marina development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduled for completion in October 2026, it positions Cape Town as a key player in the global ocean economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V&A Waterfront CEO Graham Wood explained that the Quay 7 Superyacht Marina will address a market reality that has been building for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSuperyacht visits have grown steadily since 2009, and we welcomed 35 vessels in the 2024\/25 season alone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cape Town Edition and Quay 7 Superyacht Marina will allow the super-rich to park their yachts next to their hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new hotel dates back to December 2018, when Marriott International signed an agreement to open The Cape Town Edition within the V&A Waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriott\u2019s Edition Hotels is a luxury lifestyle brand within the Marriott International portfolio, designed to feel like a high-end boutique hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each hotel has a unique design that reflects its location, often featuring minimalist, modern aesthetics combined with historic architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is considered one of Marriott\u2019s luxury tier brands, alongside The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and W Hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriott Edition hotels are strategically placed in gateway cities around the world, including London, New York, Miami, Hollywood, and Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cape Town will join this exclusive club in October 2026 with the launch of The Cape Town Edition hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cape Town Edition will offer 142 guest rooms and suites, along with world-class facilities, including a rooftop bar, a spa, a pool, and meeting and event facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will include six private residences that embody Marriott Edition\u2019s signature blend of contemporary luxury and refined simplicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shanghai-based architectural firm Neri & Hu has designed The Cape Town Edition and The Residences, in collaboration with local architect and design firm StudioMAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project promises to deliver a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, blending modern, luxurious style with authentic local character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the V&A Waterfront, residents can access a world-class heliport and extensive yacht berths with dedicated superyacht facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests and residents will also enjoy a newly developed public promenade along the water\u2019s edge, providing seamless access to the vibrant destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to be developing this architecturally stunning new building, which will mark the launch of Edition Hotels in Africa,\u201d the V&A Waterfront said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
