The latest QS Global Executive MBA Rankings listed three South African business schools in the top 100 in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB), Henley Business School, and the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The QS Global Executive MBA Rankings evaluate graduate management education programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the rankings evaluated 246 top international EMBA programs across 58 locations, incorporating over 75,000 nominations from employers and academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCT GSB is ranked 73rd on the QS Global Executive MBA Rankings, which comes just one month after it was ranked 6th globally in CEO Magazine\u2019s 2026 Global EMBA Rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Business leaders across Africa and around the world are having to navigate increasingly complex global markets, new types of digital disruption and unprecedented uncertainty,” said UCT GSB Director (Dean) Catherine Duggan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our EMBA is designed to help senior leaders deepen their leadership skills, develop new strategic insights and gain an international perspective so they can lead more effectively within their organisations, across the continent and around the world.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to its strong overall ranking in the region, the UCT GSB EMBA program was recognised among the global top 20 for both Executive Profile and Diversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also secured the top spot for Employer Reputation in Africa and the Middle East. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition reflects the program’s global reputation and its appeal to senior business leaders from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) also ranked on the list, coming in 97th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Henley Business School has made significant progress, climbing to 57th place in the 2026 QS Executive MBA Rankings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the QS Global Executive MBA Ranking lists Henley Business School in the United Kingdom, the school operates across three continents: Africa, Europe, and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is now ranked 16 places higher than the next business school with a campus in Africa offering this qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dean of Henley Business School Africa Jon Foster-Pedley said that approximately one-third of the program participants are from Africa, learning in and about the continent’s business environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said this experience provides the participants with the “texture, complexity, and competitive edge\u201d that only engaging in business in Africa can offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remaining two-thirds of participants come from cohorts based in the UK and the Nordics, representing peers from every major market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the 24-month program, all three cohorts gather during five international modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“At Henley, you\u2019re not forced to choose between ‘African business’ and ‘global business’. You\u2019re built for the seam where they meet, which, increasingly, is where the real value lives,” said Foster-Pedley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school said that by integrating senior executives from Johannesburg, London, and Helsinki, the Global Executive MBA functions as a living laboratory for international business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This climb is a hard-won result in a field that is more crowded and competitive than ever,” said MBA programmes at Henley Africa Director Lyneth Zungu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With 29 new schools entering the rankings this year, simply standing still is a challenge,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you complete the Henley MBA, you graduate with two qualifications, not just one: the full UK degree and the full South African qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school said that the 2026 data highlights the “executive depth” of the Henley cohort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The QS rankings assess the average years of work experience, managerial levels, and C-suite experience among students, as well as class diversity, with 20 different nationalities represented in the program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the school reported that 78% of students received a promotion within 12 months of completing the program, placing Henley in the top 20% of business schools surveyed for career outcomes.
