\u201cIf we convert that category, we will be contributing to society because you’re going to have less waste, improved efficiency, and lower energy usage \u2013 and all of that contributes to our sustainability goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gareth Jay, the Regional Sales Director for Africa<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Through this market conversion, in which Epson is shifting users from cartridge and laser technologies to ink tank systems, the company is targeting astounding 33% dollar-value growth in FY26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This approach has already proven successful in comparable markets and is expected to accelerate adoption locally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the ink tank printer category, Epson already represents around 38% of the on-shelf retail market, and 41% of the e-commerce market locally and it aims to capture more of the market through its conversion strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Epson will drive growth through significant investment across infrastructure, warehousing and workforce talent, enabling it to respond to customer and market demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are building a strong local presence that supports our customers throughout their journey, while also contributing to job creation and skills development,\u201d said Jay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat combination of local capability and global innovation is what allows us to unlock growth in this market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Epson has already expanded its Johannesburg presence with newly renovated offices and invested significantly in an innovation centre in FY25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Playing a significant role in this market capture is its sustainability efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jay explained that in the South African market, energy costs, waste, and efficiency are real challenges, so they bring technology to the market that addresses those concerns specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAt Epson, we design products that use less energy, reduce waste and are built to last,\u201d said Jay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor us, it is not a trend. It is rooted in authenticity and transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Epson launched five new printers tailored for home, home office, and small business users:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The printers are engineered to deliver significant cost savings, improve energy efficiency, reduce the physical footprint and strengthen durability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Offering up to 90% lower ink costs compared to traditional cartridge-based devices, the new range lets users print up to 150 pages per month for up to three years using a single set of ink bottles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The new printers also have a more compact design, with the printers being up to 20% smaller and having a 12% reduction in overall footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This allows them to fit seamlessly into modern workspaces and home environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Performance improvements include 20% faster colour printing, 5% faster black printing, and a printhead capable of producing up to 50,000 pages without replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A key feature of Epson\u2019s printers is the Micro Piezo heat-free technology they rely on for printing, which is significantly more efficient than other the portable Flex models, such as the EF-61, EF-71, and EF-72, as well as the premium Lifestudio Grand LS670 and Grand Plus LS970 ultra-short-throw projectors, which can display pictures of up to 150 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These devices cater to a wide range of users, from young professionals to families and home cinema enthusiasts \u2013 and they are all-in-one projectors, offering smart functionality, built-in speakers, and can even be powered by a simple power bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Integrated Google TV provides access to more than 10,000 apps without requiring additional devices, while the audio is powered by Bose, allowing the projectors to function as standalone Bluetooth speakers when not in use for visual content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Advanced features include auto screen adjustment, obstacle avoidance, and adaptive image optimisation based on wall colour and environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With a clear focus on product innovation, market conversion, and sustainability, Epson is
