The wider Woolworths group is increasingly using the Takealot Group’s logistics services for deliveries\u2014but grocery deliveries are not on the cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the release of its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2026, Takealot Group CEO Frederik Zietsman said that the group sees Mr D and Takealot Fulfilment Services as growth businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the Mr D Group is still mainly based on takeaway deliveries, the grocery business is now also profitable, adding further bottom-line growth for the group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zietsman said that Mr D is now working to become a hyper-local, fast-delivery partner for retailers across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group has thus partnered with several companies, including Nespresso, Frozen 4 You and Woolworths-owned Absolute Pets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
TFS, the group’s new logistics company that leverages its expertise, has also partnered with a host of retailers across the country for its logistics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
TFS has now also partnered with nationwide retailers, including Mr Price, Pepkor and Woolworths, for logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, speaking to BusinessTech, Zietsman said the group is not looking to partner with Woolworths on its grocery delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr D already offers Pick n Pay delivery on its platforms, and Zietsman said that the group is not focused on partnering with other retailers for last-mile deliveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the Pick n Pay grocery deliveries are a key draw for the TakealotMore, the group’s subscription offering that offers unlimited and same-day free deliveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
