{"id":87054,"date":"2015-05-12T15:38:30","date_gmt":"2015-05-12T13:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=87054"},"modified":"2015-05-12T15:38:30","modified_gmt":"2015-05-12T13:38:30","slug":"white-people-are-disgusting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/87054\/white-people-are-disgusting\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;White people are disgusting&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Johannesburg (UJ) has suspended one of its lecturers who allegedly made racist comments on her Twitter profile, pending a disciplinary hearing.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to the trade union Solidarity who initially called for disciplinary action in a letter to the university.<\/p>\n<p>Solidarity industry head of the professional industry, Johan Botha, said that the lecturer, for a considerable period of time, made &#8216;snide&#8217; and &#8216;destructive comments&#8217;, especially towards white people, using her personal Twitter profile.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_87062\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/UJ-Tweet-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-87062\" class=\" wp-image-87062\" src=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/UJ-Tweet-1.jpeg\" alt=\"UJ Tweet\" width=\"600\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-87062\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">UJ Tweet<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe lecturer\u2019s entries demonstrated a marked attack on white people. We believe that her actions are contrary to the virtuous culture and principles upheld by the university and that her actions stir up unnecessary racial tensions.
