{"id":876733,"date":"2026-09-23T08:47:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T06:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=876733"},"modified":"2026-09-23T08:47:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T06:47:17","slug":"new-state-owned-company-in-south-africa-to-manage-r155-billion-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/876733\/new-state-owned-company-in-south-africa-to-manage-r155-billion-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"New state-owned company in South Africa to manage R155 billion fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Middle East sovereign wealth funds, backed by trillions of dollars in assets, have advised South Africa to create a fundraising vehicle as part of a plan to establish a new state firm to manage its R155 billion property portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities in Africa\u2019s biggest economy recently held discussions with Johannesburg\u2019s stock exchange about setting up a development fund to raise money for projects, after seeking advice from sovereign wealth funds in the Gulf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson said this in a Bloomberg TV interview.
