Mk4 remotely piloted aircraft fitted with an infrared camera and close ground support package into the fray.<\/p>\n<p>The test was deemed a success by Cape Town, with\u00a0Mayoral Committee on Safety and Security member, JP Smith, stating the drone was effective.<\/p>\n<p>Smith said, besides police operations, drones can be used to check for fire breaks, coordinate and monitor disaster response, and manage traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Cape Town also plans to use a fixed-wing push prop drone for anti-metal theft operations in Philippi, he said.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Drones in action<\/h3>\n<p>The City
